NEIU Opera Workshop to Perform Carlisle Floyd’s “Susannah”
WHAT: The Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU) Opera Workshop will perform Carlisle Floyd’s Susannah, a musical drama set in the mountains of eastern Tennessee. Susannah, a vivacious young woman, is falsely accused of wrongdoing by the church elders and is shunned by the community. This opera, which infuses American folk songs and dances, addresses issues of tolerance while showing the depths and passions of human emotions.
Tickets are $10.
WHERE: NEIU Auditorium, 5500 N. St. Louis Ave. in Chicago (Use campus entrance located at 3701 W. Bryn Mawr Ave.)
Free parking is available in Lot F.
