Ensemble Español Offers Classes and Workshops
in Spanish Dance and Music at NEIU
WHAT: Ensemble Español Center for Spanish Dance & Music, in residence at Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU), honoring their fourth decade as the premier center of Spanish dance, music and culture in the United States, will celebrate its 32nd anniversary of the American Spanish Dance Festival. Fifty Spanish dance and music classes and workshops will be offered as part of the American Spanish Dance Festival.
Classes and Workshops A comprehensive series of 50 master classes and workshops in the neoclassical, clásico Español, regional /folkloric, and Flamenco styles of dance, vocals, guitar, and percussion available for university credit and non-credit. Students will study with Dame Libby Komaiko, founder and artistic director, Ensemble Español; Carmela Greco, daughter of the legendary José Greco; Paloma Gomez and Cristian Lozano, former principals of the National Ballet of Spain.
WHEN: Friday, June 20 through Thursday, June 26, both day and evening classes available.
WHERE: Northeastern Illinois University Dance Studio Building J, Studio 111 Enter campus at 3701 W. Bryn Mawr Ave. or the intersection of Foster and Central Park avenues in Chicago.
