Enjoy Spanish Paintings and Sculpture Exhibit as part of the American Spanish Dance Festival
WHAT: Ensemble EspaƱol Center for Spanish Dance & Music, in residence at Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU), will celebrate its 32nd anniversary of the American Spanish Dance Festival through various events including an exhibition of paintings and sculptures featuring Spanish artists Ana Maria Llestin and Yolanda Blanco.
Admission to the exhibit and opening cocktail reception are free; reservations for the reception are requested at (312) 440-0044.
WHEN: Wednesday, June 18 through Friday, July 18 Opening cocktail reception will be held on Wednesday, June 18 at 6:30 p.m.

DETAILS: Ana Maria Llestin, painter, Valencia, earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the San Carlos Faculty of Valencia and a Ph.D. at the Polytechnical University of Valencia. She has had more than 200 national and international exhibitions throughout her artistic career and has participated in conferences at different centers, foundations and universities, as well as given courses and seminars. Llestin has been awarded various prizes and has taken part as juror in diverse events. Currently she focuses her time on her personal work.
Yolanda Blanco, Madrid, is a sculptor who works with materials such as bronze, stone and wood to create figures that resemble scenes of daily life and communicate with a simple language the beauty of the time and its forms.
