**FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!
Be safe at home, exchange household hazards for environmental resources and live GREEN at NEIU and the City of Chicago’s Environmental Resource Event
WHAT: Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU) will host a City of Chicago’s Department of Environment Resource Event. This program provides the opportunity for you to drop off:
· Old or unused medications
· Electronics such as computers, cell phones, fax machines, scanners, and keyboards
· Hazardous household chemicals and paints
· Old gas cans and gas-powered lawn mowers
In exchange you can purchase or pick up:
· Compost bins ($30 while supplies last)
· Rain barrels ($40 while supplies last)
· Free compact florescent light bulbs (while supplies last)
· Free environmentally friendly gas-cans (when you exchange your old one)
· $100 rebate toward an electric or environmental push-mower (when you drop off your
old gas-mower)
