36th Annual Chuck Kane Memorial Golf Outing to Support
Northeastern Illinois University Scholarship Programs
WHAT: The Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU) Foundation and Inland Real Estate Group, Inc. will present the 36th annual Chuck Kane Golf Outing, held in memory of former NEIU faculty member Chuck Kane. The outing provides scholarship awards to students in the department of health, physical education, recreation, and athletics, and in the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business and Management, and Education.

Golf /shotgun start at 1 p.m.

DETAILS: Professor Charles (Chuck) Kane was NEIU’s first athletic director and golf coach. Since 1972, the Kane Memorial Outing has been raising scholarship funds for Northeastern Illinois University students. The outing began as a way for members of the department of health, physical education, recreation and athletics (H.P.E.R.A.) to help students and honor their colleague and mentor.
Profits from this outing have endowed two scholarship funds, the Charles G. Kane Memorial Scholarship and the NEIU Chuck Kane Scholarship. Seventy-two students have received scholarships from these funds. Today, the outing is a joint venture between the Department of H.P.E.R.A. and the NEIU Foundation.
The event is sponsored by Inland Real Estate Group, Inc., Segal Company, Chicago Tribune, Beck’s Bookstore, Andrea Davey/Pario Consulting, Tom Power, Joe Rocci, Chicago Title & Trust, Chase Bank, Exelon Company, and Wolf & Co., LLP, Tom Grammins, and Melsernet.
