Former Adler fellow Lucas Meachem to perform in the NEIU Jewel Box Series
WHAT: Baritone Lucas Meachem, former Adler fellow at the San Fransisco Opera, will appear in Northeastern Illinois University’s (NEIU) Jewel Box Series. Tickets are $25; students $10.
Meachem’s program includes: Johann Sebastian Bach “Make thyself clean, my heart” from St. Matthew Passion

WHERE: NEIU Fine Arts Center Recital Hall, 5500 N. Saint Louis Ave in Chicago (Use campus entrance located at 3701 W. Bryn Mawr Ave.) Free parking in Lot F.
WHEN: Friday, May 16 at 8 p.m.
DETAILS: Lucas Meachem was most recently seen in “Forza Del Destino” while also appearing in the “Doktor Faust,” “Billy Budd” and “Magic Flute” productions. Meachem is the winner of several awards including the 2001 Mario Lanza Competition, the 2002 Jessie Kneisel Competition, the 2001 and 2002 West Palm Beach Opera Competitions, the 2001 Opera Index Competition, the 2002 George London Competition and the 2002 Bel Canto Competition.
Meachem has also been a winner in the Metropolitan National Council Competition in Charlotte, North Carolina and in New Haven, Connecticut in 2001 and 2002 and won an Encouragement award at the 2002 Regional Metropolitan National Council Competition in Atlanta, Georgia.
