Art Department Earns NASAD Accreditation

Northeastern Illinois University Art Department Earns
National Association of Schools of Art and
Design Accreditation
CHICAGO – The Northeastern Illinois University art department has been granted accreditation by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD). NASAD, which includes nearly 300 member schools, is the national accrediting agency for schools of art and design.
Founded in 1944, NASAD focuses on educational quality and institutional integrity. The association also provides information to the public, produces statistical research, provides professional development for leaders of art and design schools, and engages in policy analysis.
Mark McKernin, professor and chair, art, said, “This accreditation affirms the art department and University commitment to the quality of instruction we provide. We are recognized with providing the finest learning conditions for art and design students and will continue to develop the strength and quality of our art and design program.”
