Course Offerings
NEIU-El Centro offers undergraduate and graduate courses leading to Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. Undergraduate students may select from courses in the natural sciences, behavioral and social sciences, fine arts and the humanities which fulfill the General Education Program requirements of the University. In addition, undergraduate students can take courses from the Social Work program, Academic Development, College of Business and Management, College of Education, Weekend Institute, and First Year Experience program. Elective courses provide additional opportunities to develop students’ competence in languages, mathematics, reading, computer and academic skills. Graduate students can take courses from the school leadership program leading to the Illinois Type 75 certificate and Reading program. NEIU-El Centro Campus serves students who are interested in taking classes primarily during the evening hours and/or on the weekends. Courses at NEIU-El Centro are taught by qualified tenure or tenure track NEIU faculty and instructors who are often practitioners in the communities we serve. All of the classes at NEIU-El Centro are taught in English, with the exception of the language courses. In addition to the courses offered for academic credit, non-credit offerings such as lecture series, seminars, and workshops are held throughout the academic year.
