Monday, February 4, 2008 Blood Drive 8:00am-8:00pm Join students, faculty, staff and community members as they donate blood for Chicago area hospitals. Co-Sponsored by Life Source and ASPIRA Inc. of Illinois. (This event is open to the public).
Wednesday, February 6, 2008 Use Your Resources to Pass your Courses 5:30pm-6:30pm Students will learn to use all the resources available to them such as tutoring, study groups, workshops, course materials, and research tools to assist them to achieve academic success.
Saturday, February 16, 2008 Free FAFSA Completion Workshop 11:00am-2:00pm Learn how to apply for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Local financial aid experts will be available to answer your questions and guide you through the process. Co-sponsored by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC). Monday, March 3-Friday, March 14, 2008 Domestic Violence Photography Exhibit Framing Safety (Battered Women's Photographic Representations of Life on the Safety- Danger Continuum) This photography exhibit illustrates the inner strength and courage of women survivors of violence. (This event is open to the public).
Through women’s photo-narratives, this exhibit explores the complexities of abusive relationships, the inner strength required to rebuild their lives, the pain of being disenfranchised by their communities and cultures, and the legal obstacles that inhibit their ability to create a safe life for themselves and their children.
Thursday, March 13, 2008 6:00pm - 7:00pm Come and meet Framing Safety Project founder Dr. Lisa Frohmann. Learn more about the domestic violence project and it’s impact on our communities.
Wednesday, March 5, 2008 Vagina Monologues 6:00pm-7:00pm In celebration of Women's History Month NEIU students will perform vignettes giving a voice to women around the world. A recurring theme is female empowerment and the ultimate quest to end violence against women. (This event is open to the public, $5 admission).
Tuesday, March 25, 2008 From the Windy City to El Bajio 6:10pm-7:10pm Participants from the study tour in Guanajuato, México will share stories of their academic experience in México. (This event is open to the public).
Wednesday, March 26, 2008 Resumes that get you hired 5:30pm-6:30pm Anyone who is or will be looking for employment will benefit from attending. In this workshop participants will be able to create a new resume or improve a current one. (This event is open to the public).
Saturday, March 29, 2008 Feria de Trabajo/Job Fair 10:00am-1:00pm Various companies and community organizations will provide part-time job and internship opportunities. Job seekers do not need to be spanish speakers. (This event is open to the public.)

Saturday, April 19, 2008 Home Buyers Workshop 11:00am-2:00pm Representatives from Latin United Community Housing Association (LUCHA) and Harris Bank and other housing experts will share information about affordable home ownership. Completion of this workshop will earn a LUCHA home buyer's education certificate. (This event is open to the public).
