Administration
The University is governed by the Northeastern Illinois University Board of Trustees whose members are appointed by the governor of Illinois. The President of the University is the chief operating officer of the institution and is accountable to the Board of Trustees. The President has full power and responsibilities within the framework of board policies for the organization, management, direction, and supervision of the University.
The President is assisted by the vice president of academic affairs (provost), vice president of finance & administration, vice president of student affairs and vice president of institutional advancement.
