| WHO? | Teachers, program coordinators, counselors,
administrators, concerned parents who are interested in providing appropriate educational programs for gifted students are likely candidates. |

| WHAT? | A Master of Arts in Gifted Education from the Department
of Special Education. |
||
| WHERE? | Northeastern Illinois University, located on the
northwest side of Chicago near Foster and Pulaski. |

| WHEN? | Convenient evening and summer courses allow you to pursue
a degree while managing other full-time commitments. These may be completed in one year (full-time) or over several years (part-time). |

| ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS: | |||
| 1. | Applicants must fulfill requirements for admission to the Graduate College. | ||
| 2. | Bachelor's degree. | ||
| 3. | Teaching certificate. | ||
| 4. | Two letters of recommendation from individuals who have
supervised you in a teaching situation. |

education must complete the following: |

| * | SPED 450. Psychology of Individuals Who are Gifted and Talented. 3 cr. | ||
| * | SPED 451. Creativity. 3 cr. | ||
| * | SPED 452. Education of Individuals Who are Gifted and Talented. 3 cr. | ||
| * | SPED 453. Seminar in Curriculum and Materials for the Gifted. 3 cr. | ||
| * | SPED 455. Bibliography and Methodology in Gifted Education. 3 cr. | ||
| * | SPED 456. Parenting and Advocacy for Gifted and Talented. 3 cr. | ||
| * | SPED 457. Research Seminar for the Gifted. 3 cr. | ||
| * | SPED 459. Field Demonstration in Gifted Education. 3 cr. | ||
| * | FOUR (4) electives. 12 cr. | ||
| Total Credit Hours 36 cr. | |||
