PURPOSE OF THE LIST
To exchange information pertaining to Department of
CMT business and the disciplines of communication, media and theatre.
HOW TO WRITE TO THE
LIST
Address your email message to:
MOST IMPORTANT TIPS
Being on the list means that you get all the messages
from the list. Not all of them will be of interest to you. WHEN YOU SEE A
MESSAGE FROM THE LIST IN YOUR INBOX ON A SUBJECT YOU AREN'T INTERESTED IN, JUST
DELETE IT. YOU DON'T HAVE TO READ IT.
If you read an email that came from the list and wish to
write back only to the person who sent it, DO NOT HIT YOUR REPLY BUTTON. IF YOU
DO, EVERYONE ON THE LIST WILL GET A COPY OF YOUR EMAIL. Instead, identify the sender's email address
and send a new email message to that address. Only hit reply if you wish to
participate in a thread of discussion open to all on the list.
LIST ETIQUETTE
1. Use the list only for topics pertaining to department business or to
the general subjects
of communication, media and theatre.
2. Feel free to attack ideas--not people.
3. Practice the constructive communication skills taught in the Department of
CMT courses.
4. When a thread of discussion evolves to the point that it is of interest to
only two or three people, the discussion thread should not continue on
list but be continued off the list by those who remain interested.
EXAMPLES OF HOW THE LIST HAS BEEN USED
1. To announce CMT department class offerings long before the school publishes
the course schedule.
2. To lobby the chair and faculty to offer particular courses.
3. To share info on jobs in communication, media and theatre.
4. To debate issues related to any aspect of communication, media and theatre.
5. To announce course cancellations, additions, time changes and the like.
6. To announce events within the Department of CMT.
7. To offer suggestions, make requests, analyze
problems and voice concerns related to
the Department of CMT.
