Wamucii Njogu earned a Ph.D. in Sociology, with a concentration in Demography, from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Professor Njogu has taught Methods of Sociological Inquiry, Statistical Applications in Sociology, Population and Demography, and Women, Men, and Social Change. Her research focuses on demographic change in Africa, and on gender inequalities in families, households, and organizations. Her current research project investigates how covert barriers exclude women and members of minority racial groups from the highest levels of the academy.
