THAILANDADOPT LISTSERV
The Thailandadopt listserv is an international Internet forum founded 1999 by adoptive parents Martha Osborne (RainbowKids cyber-magazine) and Julie Higginbotham. Families participate by sending e-mails to the list, and all posts are also distributed to list members by e-mail. This is a restricted listserv, not a “live chat” area. Families may elect to receive posts as single e-mails, or to receive a number of complete e-mails compiled into a daily “digest.” The group is designed for families who are researching Thai adoption, who are in the process of adopting from Thailand, or who have already adopted a child/children from Thailand. Older Thai adoptees are also welcome, and agency personnel and Thai foster families/orphanage workers are also allowed to join.
As of April 2007, about 300 members were subscribed to this
listserv,
with more joining each week. People are helpful to each other but the
volume
of daily postings is quite low.

POST-ADOPT-THAILAND LISTSERV
The post-adopt-thailand listserv is an Internet forum founded in spring
2005
by adoptive parent Julie Higginbotham. Families participate by sending
e-mails to the list, and
all posts are also distributed to list members by e-mail. This is a
restricted
listserv, not a “live chat” area. Families may elect to receive posts
as
single e-mails, or to receive a number of complete e-mails compiled
into
a daily “digest.” Families who have already sent a dossier to Thailand,
who have put a
specific waiting child on hold in Thailand, or who have already adopted
a Thai child, are invited to join this group,
which focuses on post-adoption issues. Adult Thai
adoptees are also welcome. Families who do not fit into this category
are
urged to investigate the general Thailandadopt listserv instead
(above).
As of April 2007, about 120 members were subscribed to this listserv, with more joining each week. People are helpful to each other but the volume of daily postings is quite low.
