Perception of Emotional Expression

The purpose of this experiment is to study how the brain processes emotional expression in faces.  It is an internet replication of the original study done by Levy, Heller, Banich, and Burton in 1983.

You will be shown a pair of faces and asked to decide which one looks happier.  It should take from 20 to 60 minutes.  Because this experiment includes many photographs, it may take a long time to access through a dial-up connection.  We strongly recommend that you do the experiment using a T1 network, DSL, or cable connection (i.e. through a computer on your school's network).

If you would like to try this experiment as a demonstration, without actually having your data included in analysis, simply go through the experiment, and in the end when it asks for comments, type "demo".
