PRINCIPLES OF HYDROGEOLOGY
ESCI 337
Spring, 2004

Daily Objectives #5 (January 27, 2004)                                        Dr. Sanders

By the end of today's class, you should be able to do the following:

v Collect streamflow data from the USGS web site.

v Construct a hydrograph and analyze the factors that determine its shape.

v Separate a hydrograph into its two main components: runoff and baseflow.

You may wish to check precipitation records online by going to this NOAA site.  First, find a station near your gage.  Then, enter dates for which you want records, and then conduct the search.  It takes a few minutes, but eventually you will get a response saying your records are ready.  You'll be able to click on a link to open them.
