By the end of today's class, you should be able to do the following:
v Briefly describe the origin of nuclides and explain some reasons behind their pattern of abundances.
v List the major decay mechanisms of unstable nuclides, and illustrate the processes on a portion of the chart of the nuclides.
v Find where the homework problems are listed on the text’s companion website.
v Read Dr. Sanders’ online list of “Hints for Solving Quantitative Problems” and explain what is expected of you for completing quantitative problems in this class.
