v Explain the meaning of the terms nuclide, isotope, isobar, isotone, atomic number, neutron number, mass number, atomic mass unit, atomic weight, and binding energy.
v Calculate the atomic weight of an element given the masses and abundances of all of the isotopes of that element.
v Describe the
origin of nuclides and explain reasons
behind their pattern of abundances.
