By the end of today's class, you should be able to do the following:

v Recognize the basic symmetry elements (reflection across a plane, rotation on an axis, and inversion through a point) in crystal shapes.

v Explain the difference between reflection, rotation, and inversion).

v Remember that there are only 32 possible combinations of these symmetry elements around a central point.

v     List the names of the six crystal systems.
