Hello all,

I suppose I ought to identify myself with a formal introduction before I enter
into a formal "thread" on this network. I've been browsing for some time now,
but have not felt compelled to write on any one particular topic.

In any event, my name is Daniel Ostercamp and I am a first-call pastor in
Northern Minnesota. I serve a two-point parish in Shevlin and Solway --- wide
spots on the road (US Hwy 2) between Bemidji and Grand Forks. When I
graduated from Luther Seminary, I left my choice of synod as "open" --
trusting that the Holy Spirit would drop me somewhere.. and here it is. I
generally enjoy my work, although it has been a challenge to make the transfer
from the life of academia to the real world.

My pre-sem background includes a B.S. in Chemistry and service in the Peace
Corps. I found my time in Africa very rewarding and would like to return
there someday.

My interests include listening to reggae, jazz and classical music; training
my puppy Moses and plotting to overthrow the hierarchy of the ELCA.

Shalom.
Dan.
