Professor Hammond is a home-grown product of Northeastern Illinois University, having finished his M.A. in Literature in May of 2003.
In addition, he served for two years as a graduate assistant in the department, gaining valuable experience as a writing
tutor in the Writing Lab and as an instructor of English 101 courses. "Northeastern is in my blood," Michael commented.
"Simply put, NEIU is home to me. It's a thrill to continue on as an instructor here, working as a colleague with the professors that inspired me to teach at the university level and maintaining a connection with the students I have shared this campus with since I first arrived here in 1999."
Professor Hammond has taught courses in literature and composition at Northeastern since 2003.
