15. THE EARTH SCIENCE CLUB
The Earth Science Club is a university-sponsored organization of students interested in geology and Earth Science. The club conducts regular field trips and social events and provides an excellent way to get to know fellow students and others interested in the science.
Club field trips are many and varied. They have included extended trips to the western U.S. as well as tours of local and regional geology. Trips have included tours of facilities of local employers as well. All students are strongly encouraged to participate in the Earth Science Club. Not only does this experience acquaint the student with others in the department, but it provides information and exposure to careers and placement in the Earth Sciences. Faculty are involved with the club as well and have led or advised various club trips and activities.
