McCosh Primary Language Arts Team

	From the beginning the CLC Primary Language Arts Team included all primary teachers. Geralynn Wilson, the Language Arts Resource teacher, was designated the CLC Teacher Leader for the team. Dr. Toni Potenza of Roosevelt University served as the team's university partner for the entire three years of the CLC project. Wilson and Potenza
	worked together to mplement several important initiatives which have had a lasting impact on professional development efforts for teachers and on student achievement. Last year IGAP writing scores in increased at grades 3-8. CLC team activities included the Breakfast Club and the
	Teacher Leadership Project, both teacher-lead professional development initiative; a five week assessment program that has lead to the addition of reading skills groups; and the Real Men Read Project, involving men from the community beyond the school in reading aloud to children.
